Introduction

This website is dedicated to one of the best multiplayer games in the history of computer games, created by Ozark Softscape in 1983, namely by Dan Bunten, Bill Bunten, Jim Rushing, Alan Watson and Roy Glover.

The effort I spend on this website is my bow before Dani Bunten, honoring her vision of computer games being a means to bring people together instead of being a hobby for lonely geeks. That vision sounds commonplace? Keep in mind that she formulated that vision in 1982, which is almost a decade before the internet came by...

M.U.L.E. for Spectrum
By: Goethe  on: Wed 27 of Jun, 2007 [15:01 UTC]  (2544 reads)
General News
In yesterday's site statistics, I noticed a spike in visitors to this site, apparently because of this article from Retro Remakes. Some guys have began programming M.U.L.E. for the ZX Spectrum! Isn't that funny... Nowadays everyone is yearning for a version of M.U.L.E. for XBox 360, Wii or PlayStation? 3, and they chose a computer even older than the Atari 800. That's what I call real retro gaming enthusiasm. ;-) Good luck to the team! I am looking forward to posting more news about the project here.
Login trouble?

General News
Mid this week, this site's hosting provider moved the site to much faster servers. But, something might have been broken during that move, as some people reported they cannot login anymore. If that happens to you as well, I'm very sorry - in that case, you have to use the "I forgot my password" link in the login box (top-left) to reset your password and choose a new one.
Some users have also reported that login works again without resetting the password if they tick the "remember me" checkbox in the login box.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

On a brighter note... Happy Easter! Enjoy the holidays. :)
Month of MULE - Part Three! UBeR's Net M.U.L.E. remake
By: Goethe  on: Sun 18 of Mar, 2007 [15:54 UTC]  (3564 reads)
General News
Just when you thought "that's about it for M.U.L.E. news in March", there is another surprise, this time by fellow WoM user UBeR. Let's head over to the forums to download and discuss this one!

Oh, and please don't forget that you can use the WoM's calendar system to make appointments for online games - now M.U.L.E. online gaming is possible with the emulated Atari version ('quite' stable with the Kaillera framework, emulated C64 version (experimental with the new Vice version 1.21), and UBeR's new remake, using its own netplay framework!

March really is like MULE player heaven - too bad I personally can't enjoy it that much (yet), as I am busy in real life preparing a job-related move from Germany to Switzerland.

Kind regards and happy MULE'ing,
Goethe

General News
For a few weeks now, Joe Strout has been working on bringing the M.U.L.E. gameplay experience to modern PC hardware by reprogramming the game. Today, he released the first sort-of-playable version for Mac and Windows.

To find out more, head over to the WoM Forum for download info - and please join the discussions to make OpenMULE even better in the future!

Thank you for paying this honor to my dad, Dan Bunten, by continuing to play his game. He would get a kick out of that.
