M.U.L.E. for the IBM PCjr found

General News
Hi there, thanks to the WoM forums I noticed that a new copy of M.U.L.E. for the IBM PCjr has surfaced and sold on eBay, for quite a high price: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150402775883. I am posting this message in the hope that the person who bought it would read this and get in contact with me, either using this website or contacting me via email: webmaster at worldofmule dot net. The IBM PCjr version of the game, developed by IBM (!), is incredibly rare, and the only "original" M.U.L.E. game which you can NOT play on an emulator yet because the original disk has not been copied yet to a modern PC file format. It would be a great service to the M.U.L.E. community if that game could be dumped and played on emulators.

Read about the various classic M.U.L.E. versions, including the IBM PCjr. one, here.

Regards and happy planet-mule'ing (you can find me there as "Eidolon"),
Goethe

Some people may have spotted the announcement already in this site's "Shoutbox", but I would like to ensure that the message really "gets out".

Melanie Bunten Stark (Dan Bunten's daughter) informed the WoM community that a M.U.L.E. remake is underway, probably out this summer. Tell your friends and family and be on the lookout. If you have questions, you may email Melanie at

This is wonderful news! Let's discuss it in the WoM forums... :-)
M.U.L.E. easter egg in Spore

Several people have let me know by email that there is a M.U.L.E. easter egg in the new life-creation sim "Spore" by Electronic Arts/Maxis. When you engage in trade with an alien race in the space stage, in some cases, you can faintly hear the M.U.L.E. theme song, piped through in its original PC speaker glory. Hanzo has blogged about the easter egg here. Thanks for letting us know.
M.U.L.E. for Spectrum

In yesterday's site statistics, I noticed a spike in visitors to this site, apparently because of this article from Retro Remakes. Some guys have began programming M.U.L.E. for the ZX Spectrum! Isn't that funny... Nowadays everyone is yearning for a version of M.U.L.E. for XBox 360, Wii or PlayStation? 3, and they chose a computer even older than the Atari 800. That's what I call real retro gaming enthusiasm. ;-) Good luck to the team! I am looking forward to posting more news about the project here.
Login trouble?

General News
Mid this week, this site's hosting provider moved the site to much faster servers. But, something might have been broken during that move, as some people reported they cannot login anymore. If that happens to you as well, I'm very sorry - in that case, you have to use the "I forgot my password" link in the login box (top-left) to reset your password and choose a new one.
Some users have also reported that login works again without resetting the password if they tick the "remember me" checkbox in the login box.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

On a brighter note... Happy Easter! Enjoy the holidays. :)
